It’s a great time to be a photographer. Digital cameras and photography software are helping image-makers reach quality and creative levels with their images never before imagined. I come from a rare time in the industry when all my education was done with film cameras and all my professional experience has been with digital equipment. I do still miss printing in the darkroom.
I’ve been creating professional photographs for clients for more than a decade now. I spent four years learning from some of the best at one of the oldest commercial studios in the Cincinnati area and then started Josh Beeman Photography four years ago.
One of my favorite things about being a commercial photographer is getting to learn about industries and people that I would otherwise not have access to. But it’s not about me; it’s about my clients. I create the images they need, whatever it is. I create to the specs needed and bring my expertise to advise the best way to make the clients vision a success. More than anything else, it is my job to make my clients look good so that you will look good to your clients.
I love the challenge of working on location. I am a problem solver, overcoming all the obstacles that are so common when working on site. It’s a challenge I find thrilling and exciting. No two jobs are alike and you need someone who understands how to make everything work towards an amazing photograph.
When I am not creating images I am usually climbing, sometimes at the local gym or hopefully Red River Gorge, one of the best areas for climbing in the world.
